Affiliated Veterinary Specialists will be available at the St. Augustine Regional Veterinary Emergency Clinic (SARVEC) for consultations, suture removals, and rechecks to patients of referring veterinarians in the St. Augustine, Palm Coast, Flagler, and Palatka areas.

Total Hip Replacements
HELICA Cementless Hip System
We are excited to introduce our new total hip replacement program. The HELICA total hip replacement system is a novel cementless implant system that utilizes threaded femoral stem and acetabular prostheses. The implants are made of titanium alloy and the acetabular inlay is composed of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene. The advantages of the HELICA implant system are minimal bone resection, cementless implantation, integration of bone into the titanium surface, and versatility for revision surgery. There are a wide range of implant sizes that can be tailored to patients 50 to 120 pounds. A recent study reported complication rates similar to other total hip implant systems.
